The #3 pad is not a long wearing pad , to get the characteristics that this pad exhibits you have to have compromises .
One of the reasons that we are looking at Hawk , is the Hawk blue , this pad should give longer wear . but this pad can only be used on the track at elevated temperatures .

The nice part of the #3 is its ability to do it all , the only down side is its wear ability . You must give up some thing to be able offer a pad that fits most peoples track and aggressive driving needs .

With the #3 pad you should be able to go through many sets of pads before you need to change rotors . ( heat problems with cast iron rotors will be the problem , not wear)

We will also be offering a lower cost sets of pads with the Hawk HP and the HPS for people that don't need a full racing pad . The HP you can replace stock pads for all uses ( longer life than stock ,no noise , very little dust) the HPS ( more dust, some noise , more friction level , higher temperature range )

The stock pad is not designed to be used on the track and running stock pads on the track will bring up all types of problems . The friction material stops displaying its friction characteristics , as its temperature goes above its range . You are now pushing the material into the face of the rotor , the heat generated makes problem worse , once the fronts brakes go , the rear brake follow because they try to do the extra braking required because fronts are not working , then they fry .

Is it too late to get in on the group buy for the Brakeman pads? I just ordered some R4S's, but might want to try the Brakemans too (I use them on the Viper).

Thank you, all, for the very helpful discussion. I've ordered a set of the Porterfield R4S pads, if only b/c I'm also ordering a Clutchmaster Stage 3 clutch from Bulletproof (thanks Ben and Chris) and they recommend and sell the Porterfields. For occasional track use, they seem a decent choice. Again, thanks for the help.

We will change prices back to normal for #3 racing pads on the 30th of September.
I bought some extra stock when I placed group buy order .
