Brake Pads
What mileage is the average first brake pad replacement done for a moderately spirited non-track driven 04 plus S. My car has 23,00 miles on it. It does not need brake pads yet, but I am thinking about changing them due to dusting issues. Has anyone put the pre04 pads on a 04 plus S. I heard they dust less and it is possible. If anyone has done it, what are your thoughts. If it is possible, does anyone have the part number so I can make sure I get the right ones when I go to the dealership.

A calmly driven S2k is easy on brake pads. It's not uncommon to get over 100K on the original pads if you don't brake hard. ( I have 2 customer cars over 100K on original 00 pads)
The 04 and up front pads do dust more than the 00-02 ones, and they can be swapped.
I can kill a set of OEM pads in 30-40minutes at a track event. The Driver is deciding factor with pad wear.

It is entirely possible to put 00-03 spec pads on your 04. Yes, they dust a lot less, have slightly less performance but still plenty for street and even autocross.
