Brake pad wear
Car is an 02 completely stock 18K when bought 1.5 years ago and now has 22K. I was doing the caliper paint thing and everything was going fine until it got to the drivers rear caliper. The outside pad looks completely worn and even broken. All the other pads look good on the other 3 corners. I am going to replace the roter and rear brake pads. I reset the rear break piston and that went well. I cannot remember when the brake piston is all the way in should it stop turning or when resetting the brake pistion should it keep turning when it's in all the way. Mine would go in all the way and keep turning. The only thing I can come up with is that the previous did some driving with the e-brake on. Any other thoughts on what might have caused this.
Thanks

Or something got wedged between the caliper and rotor and then got slammed into the pad?
It is the "leading edge" of the pad, isn't it ? (when driving forward)
How does the rotor look?
Why are you replacing it?

lots of people have had the rear calipers get stuck due to lack of grease on the slide pins. get some good quality grease and lube the slide pins when you put it back together. it would be a good idea to do the same on the passenger side.

Rotor seems to be ok, at closer look so I will be just replacing the rear pads. It just seems strange if something got caught in there the rotor would be damaged but it looks ok and yes it's on the leading edge of the pad. The dealer in Orlando is a ripp $67.04 plus tax. $43.73 through the net.
