Are brake line threaded unions safe?
I am doing a rust repair on the last 5 inches of the rear passenger hard brake line right before it connects to the brake hose.
Is it safe to use a brass union to connect in a new short piece of steel line instead of running an entire new rear brake line? The rest of the line looks great rust wise.
Just to be clear, I would be using a threaded female female union, NOT a compression fitting.
Thanks!

If you are adding a nut to the cut line and double flaring it, using a brass threaded union, then yes that is 100% safe and the correct method to repair.
Compression unions are used for psi in the hundreds. Not in the thousands scale of brake psi.
