Currently in a dispute with Hondacare over this. I took the calipers to the dealer, and they said that they couldn't get the pistons out, they were seized in there.

Hondacare will most likely not cover it. Because there is a tear in the piston boot caused by improper installation at one time or another.

I have never taken the pistons out before, and they were fine the first and only other time I changed the pads. I should find out for sure tomorrow. They are trying to tell me that if you do any work on your car yourself, ie oil change, brake pads, etc, that my warranty is toast. What a load of bs.

^ oh no, they are going nissan on us.... well i guess its not all bad, now we might get some cool cars in the future...

but seriously, i have never seen a dealer warantee calipers, they consider them a wear and tear item. especially on a 5 year old car.

i would say eat the ~$150 each and get some oe replacenents from your local parst store, that or this could be a sign saying go for a more agressive brake package...

The thing is, they are covered under my extended service contract, and under the Magusun-Moss Warranty Act, they cannot deny my claim because I found the problem myself. Unless of course I installed them improperly, which is obviously not the case.

You cant prove that you didn't install them improperly. All that they are going to see is that the boot was torn, and caliper pistons boot dont tear by themselves.

Looks good. The dealer tech pretty much agrees with me that they obviously failed by themselves, as the boots are obviously worn from the elements and dont just have tears from being stretched. Should find out for sure this afternoon. Had my car flat-bedded over to the dealer this morning...
