Brakes are made to be "slammed" on. That's what they're there for. If you blow a seal "slamming" on the brakes while doing a fluid change, it was going to blow anyway. Better to blow it doing a fluid change than to do it while you are trying to stop for that kid who runs out into the street chasing his ball.
you are not suppose to slam on the brake while you doing a brake job, it's said in my ASE manual. when you let go bleeder screw, juice came out and if you nuke the pedal while the juice is low, the seal can blew out.

A brake bleed should not involve removing the bleed screw and putting some kind of sealer just so you can use a 50 buck vacuum bleeder. The far better way to do a one person brake bleed is to use a pressure bleeder.

Motive Universal Power Bleeder is the tool for one person brake bleed/flush. It can be used to bleed the clutch too.
