Default Are BOTH the Honda Damper tools needed for Crank pully removal?

Or can I get away with buying only one and using a socket and breaker bar?

There is only one Honda tool. There are two part numbers, one for the part that goes in the crank pulley and one for the handle.

If you have to buy them separate, then you could probly buy the socket one and just use a breaker bar like you were thinking

You dont need both honda parts but you will need the tool that holds the crank steady.

I asked my Honda dealer if I could borrow the tool with a deposit (after a recommendation from someone on this board). They did not have any issue with it. You may want to try this first.

I borrowed one from the Honda ealership for mine, and it would be a bitch without it! We tried with and broke a ratchet first. Honda puts these on at what seems 500 ft lbs torque!!! Phil

Why are you removing the crank pulley?

That's not something you should replace with an aftermarket piece. Or so I've been told.
