boring bootlid question
gudday
just a quick question for any or all - does your bootlid spring open all the way when you trigger it? or does it just pop open a bit? it just seems to me that the spring in mine could use a bit more oooomph to open the lid all the way but having never tried opening someone elses i dont know if thats how they all are.
cheers

If you are referring to the trunk lid then you should know that there are two versions of springs that can go there.
One is the regular tension set and the other is the stronger set to help lift the lid when the spoiler is installed.
If you want your lid to pop up when you use the key fob you can simply adjust the trunk lid stop bumpers on the underside of the lid. Turn them a 1/4 turn so they stand out. This will create more tension on the rubber boot so when the latch pops open, the trunk lid will pop up higher.
You can also use a 10mm socket and lower the D ring on the car that the trunk latch hooks on to. Loosen the 3 bolts and lower the D ring an 1/8th inch.
You can do that or replace the springs with newer, stronger springs.

The trunk (boot) lid typically doesn't open fully when it's unlocked. It just lifts about an inch so that you can open it by hand.
If you want it to go all the way, perhaps the stronger springs used with the spoiler would do it - I don't know for sure.

i've put on the spoiler spring on my trunk before i put on my spoiler and i wouldn't advise it unless you like hearing your trunk lid bottom out on the stoppers when it goes all they way up.
