Get a new exhaust that's 3" and get your car out of that shop. If you have a 3" to a 2.5" transition without a reducer you will get a lot of turbulence but since the exhaust starts so far down, the benefits of a 3" downpipe would greatly out weigh the losses.

Sounds to me like either the shop can't get 3" SS piping for cheap so they wanna use 2.5". Or they dont have enoguh 3" SS and they dont wanna order another larger stock of piping.

Like I had PM'ed you before, this doesn't seem like a shop you should have your work done at.

Well they are actually running a 2.5 inch down pipe all the way back no resonator or cat. he said 3 inch pipping from a dual exhuast is too much and that he would only run 3 inch on a single exhaust. But thats why I was spectacle about....

any other inputs feel free.

thnks for the info kane

that's the most retarded thing i've ever heard from a shop.

I didnt go 4" DP and exhaust for no reason.

best turbo exhaust is no exhaust.

Heres the link to the pics.Let me know what you guys think. As far as I am concerned I am not too amazed with the manifold, I feel as if the runners are a little too small...especially when I have a lot of flow coming from the head work that was done by joe.Another thing I was thinking of is that I have a stock intake manifold and a stock throttle body and I saw the pipping that goes from the throttle body to the front mount and it was made to measure 3 INCHES!! Is ithis an over kil, would it be too big with the stock throttle body and stock intake manifold?
What I think are the benefits and none benefits on the flow of this setup are the following.

BENEFITS:
-3 inch pipping from throttle body to fmic
-3 inch down pipe
-Joe alaniz head work

NON BENEFITS:
-stock intake manifold
-stock throttle body
-small runners on the manifold (may be too small but I could be wrong)

Well..heres the links and tell me your opinions thanks

The turbo you picked works good. The standard E cover would've worked just fine, but the S cover will be ok. I used that on my hatch and it made great power. The 400WHP you want, will not be hard to obtain. You can get away with the stock throttlebody and intake manifold that you have. I would suggest you go with 2.5" intercooler piping all the way around. 3" is a little too big for what you want. If it was a more serious setup, than I would understand. Alot of Hondas have made 500+WHP with 2.5" IC piping. Also, go with the 3" exhaust instead of the 2.5". Turbo cars love bigger exhaust piping. With my old car, I would run a 3" downpipe and no exhaust at the track. With 9:1 compression, a good tune and race gas, that motor should be fine and you'll be able to reach your goals. Good luck.
