Default boggy lag 2500-4000 rpm

hey im new to this site. i installed my invidia exhaust and aem cai not too long ago and recently have been noticing that there is absolutely no power when trying to accelerate from 2500 rpm to 4000 rpm in 2nd-4th gears. does anyone know what the problem might be? it just feels as though i am trying to pull the car at 4th gear at 20mph. no power. nothing is wrong with the intake install as i checked all the hoses and no CEL but maybe it could be from that. please help!

also when i get the car rolling on first gear it feels like the rpm doesn't rev fast enough and end up always just rolling it around 1500 rpm with little trembles. feels like my car lost all power on the low end.

sounds like heatsoak to me, was it particularly hot outside when this happened?

heast soak should be pretty much eliminated because of the CAI. I am stumped...the car has next to no torque at those RPMS. Unless you are in like 5pm traffic.

In what part of the country do you live? Is it hot there? Where is the air intake for your CAI? I ask these questions as I know there are some types of CAIs that actually have their intakes in VERY hot areas. If your air intake point is anywhere behind the radiator try placing a thermometer near the point where the air intake occurs. If it is hotter than ambient, there's your problem.

Thanks,
Richard

the aem pipe still gets hot as hell even though its pulling in colder air with the filter, the pipe attached to the throttle body gets hot,if your in bumper to bumper the cai will do virtually nothing. Not to mention the shi%^y throttle response that the aem has at low rpms.

i live in the los angeles area and recently its been getting quite hot around here. the problem i don't seem to understand is that it even does that at night. maybe im just starting to get used to the low torque s2ks have in that rpm range. would you guys suggest i take the cai out? by the way it is the regular aem cai. i do see that the rpm revs quicker around mid-band.

one other thing that you should worry about cover the drain holes on the hood so that your intake doesn't cause hydrolock. I took my v2 off for that very reason. I now have the ARC intake system no more worrys of hydrolock.I really think that heatsoak is your problem though.

i had many problems in the past with cold air intakes and was just thinking about taking the whole thing out in general. i do like it and im guessing half of the lag could be all mental. is it normal that the accelerator have to be almost slammed down all the way for a good 1-2 seconds for the rpm to reach 4-5k rpm when idle on first? will it make a great difference if im planning to get toda headers with vafc ii? i was even considering switching it out to the comptech intake. suggestions?
