Well, I posted this in another thread because I couldn't find this one. I guess I didn't look hard enough.

Here's my question(s):
I've done some reading. Very interesting stuff. I'm sure I haven't got my head around all of it, but enough so to make a start.

I'm thinking springs and roll bars are a start toward what I want. My last S was lowered 2" and had comptech non-adjustable sway bars F and R, and I can remember a distinct difference in handling. I didn't think about it much until now though because those changes were made by the previous owner, so that was the only way I ever knew the car.

I have two questions: If I liked how that car handled, can I assume that I need to go F and R sway bars? I've heard mixed thoughts on this issue. Some say go both, some say go front only. Also, I have no intention of dropping 2" again. No more than 1" this time for drivability around town.

Number two: Assuming I'd like to go with F and R sway bars, but I'd also like to dial the oversteer down just a bit. I'm leaning toward the Saner bar for it's bang for the buck. Someone has also mentioned that Saner makes a rear bar. I'm wondering if I can match F and R Saner bars but dial the F one notch stiffer than the R. Does that sound like a decent plan?

Sway bars are just one component of the suspension and there are different recommendations for different year models and different uses. Here is a bit on sway bars for background:

munkee, your proposed setup would indeed reduce oversteer. (More tire on the front should be part of the equation too) The Saner front and rear setup is a good one now that they make an adjustable rear bar as well. It gives you a variety of setup choices. I don't have experience with the Comptech bars, so I can't help you there.

I wasn't knocking the rear bar in my earlier post; I just don't think it's necessary for most applications on our car. ('03 and earlier, the MY '04 has a looser rear and might be a different story.)

The '04 has more tire on the rear, but they put a thinner sway bar to make the ride softer. As a result, it's not quite as punishing going over the bumps, but also not as tight as the earlier ones.

Any thoughts on mating a saner front bar with a muz rear?
