I am also running a test pipe. I mostly notice the smoke not when going WOT(hard to tell though as I am usually going really fast then and smoke gets whisked away) but when I drove for a few minutes, park and then turn back on it smokes for 15-30 seconds and then goes away.

So how do I know if it is rings or valve seals? Smoked up again today after parking for a couple of minutes. Smoked for a good 30 seconds and then stopped.
Really embarrassing. I need to get this fixed!

I also realized this started happening not too long after I used Chevron Techron oil system cleaner. Could it have cleaned gunk away that was blocking a leak or something like that??

Hey Moddiction--sorry to bump this--while I am not boosted, my AP1 is sharing the same smoking issue (after sitting for a few minutes, or after excessive idling).

Did you and Billman ever fix this?

Honestly just drive the car and add oil as necessary. I had the same exact issue as you and tried fixing it by replacing the valve seals, that ended up making the problem even worse. I was so fed up with it that I ended up selling the damn car. Good luck!

Not sure if this is true with the S2000 engine, but some cars use seal material that hardens with age and heat. They can wear the stems of the valves. The seals look fine, but the valve stem diameter wears down, causing oil to pass.

Replacing just the seals will not stop these cars from sucking oil pass those valve seals.

I've spent hours searching for a solution (there are quite a few threads on this going back to the early 2000s), but no one has reported a solid fix, just theories. All the owners I reached out to said they either gave up, ignored the problem or sold the car. I'm not sure I want to start replacing random parts, but maybe I will have to. It's the randomness of the smoking near idle that pisses me off.

For those cars with worn valve stems, replacing both valves and seals seems to be the only cure. Big bucks.

Not really, if you can remove the head you can get new valves and seals, guides are another story.

I have this same exact issue as mentioned, however I had over heated previously and drove probably for 1km or so due to a plugged radiator and air within the loop. So I'm guessing I scorched one of the oil rings. At idle speed it smokes for 10 to 15 seconds then blows away. Note engine has 28000 miles and I cannot say if the engine was doing this prior to over heat. But I highly suspect oil rings. I just add oil as necessary, I'm accustomed to this having owned a Dc5 type R and would consume oil similarly.
