You need to do a leak down to be sure.

I'll try to get one done tomorrow and then go from there.

Haven't had a chance to do a leakdown test yet but no smoke again yet. Have boosted it a few times as well and no issues. Seems the car doesn't run as lean as it was before either lol. Would something leaking cause it to maybe run a little richer that could also cause smoke?

Ok did a leakdown test yesterday.

Tested each at 75 psi. The tester was leaking a couple psi of air from the seal. Each cylinder got like 3-4 psi loss max. Pretty sure a couple psi were from the leaking seal on the tester as I could hear it hissing. So looks like nothing is blown or anything as those numbers are very good from what I know.
So this 136K motor is running real strong which I am happy to see.

So I am guessing the only other way the oil would have gotten in there is through the PCV system? I haven't noticed oil since I have added the supra pcv inline.
Any other way it would get into the combustion chamber?

Just drove it. Parked it when at the bank and then started up again 5-10 minutes later at most and smoked for like 20-30 seconds then went away.
Very strange.

Sounds like the stem seals are leaking. Don't quote me though.

Do you get a puff at vtec?

Yeah must be. Others have said that the leak down won't show if the seals are leaking.
So assuming that is the issue can they be replaced without removing the head? And how extensive of a job is it? Anything else good to replace when doing the stem seals?
I don't notice if I do or not. A while ago someone was driving behind me and said they saw a puff of smoke and then nothing again for that drive. So maybe.

You can do it with the head on, but you have to pressurize the cylinder and unstack the spring. It's just like changing the retainers but with an extra step. I guess now that the S is getting older we're starting to see the same stuff all the other cars had. My 94' GSR needed new stem seals too.

posted this in your metro thread also:

Bad valve seals cannot be detected by leakdown or compression. They are outside the sealed area of the combustion chamber.

Compression and leakdown tests cannot be used to detect worn oil control rings. If you have worn control rings, you will have addition oil on the compression rings. This will give HIGHER compression, and BETTER leakdown results.

Do you have an air filter on the car, or a screen over the turbo inlet?

I'm going to guess it's blow by from the rings being worn out. I have the same issue. A plume of blue smoke from WOT pulls from time to time and the smell of oil burning is very distinct. Granted I am running a testpipe as well but it still did it with my cat on.
