Default blown shock?

Driver side rear has a thump/clunking sound when going over bumps and rough roads. sounds like things rolling around an empty trunk. take everything out, and sound is still there. pushing down on the body, right above the rear wheel, recreates the thump/clunk.

while i was under the car changing the diff fluid, a friend noticed that the springs were covered in gunk/dirt.

thats when i realized that the dirt buildup may be a combination of oils form the shocks + dirt from daily driving.

looked over to the left suspension and it was clean.

thoughts? TIA

i am the friend that was under the car.

i never knew a blown shock would make thumping noises...but i think that crud buildup is a dead giveaway.

post a picture or something.

in the end you're gonna have to take it into the dealer anyway since you have the extended warranty.

go to the dealer man.

i believe suspension is a wear item so going to the dealership will not help.
