Default Blown differentials

I believe I blew my diffs today. Heard a loud pop then only heard clunking from the rear when I stopped on the gas.

I have an ap2 tranny and I believe I have an ap1 driveshaft and diff. If I were to replace it with an ap2 diff which route should I go about

Should I just buy an ap2 diff and change out the flange from my ap1?

Should I get an ap2 diff and ap2 driveshaft so I don't have to sorry about the rear flange?

Since I have an ap2 tranny fitted onto an ap1 driveshaft would I need to change the tranny side flange again to fit the ap2 driveshaft?

I'm not sure whts the most cost effective way to fix this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Swap the input flanges on the diffs. Unless you know exactly what you have under there then just keep it simple. NOTE: If you have an AP1 diff and driveshaft then someone before you swapped over the output flange on the tranny to allow the AP1 drive shaft to bolt up. The AP2 and AP1 tranny output flanges are different. So unless you know 100% what you have under there then keep it simple and don't buy extra unneeded parts. The AP1 drive shaft held up fine to my Boosted S2K for the last 9 years

If you can get them as a package, just get the diff+drive shaft and save headache. You will have to change the trans flange as well.

Keep in mind if he has the AP1 drive shaft hooked up then he is going to need an AP2 transmission output flange to get the AP2 driveshaft to bolt on. Here are the part numbers for the flanges online at a honda dealer, they are different.

AP1 flange:

AP2 flange:

That's what I was thinking.. Getting the flange for the transmission side and just get ap2 driveshaft and diff as a package and just bolt them on. Thanks for the input guys
