I couldn't find a kit that would be here in time so I ended up grabbing an axle from a local autozone for $100 (couldn't belive they had one in stock). I'll install that tonight then take my time rebuilding the oem one and swap it back in if the vibrations get too bad.

I've always read mixed things about ballade, have they gotten worse recently? It seems like it'd be hard to mess up an axle rebuild unless the cv buckets/ bearings weren't machined to the right tolerance.

Thanks for all of the comments, I had no idea what I was getting into when I started but it wasn't to difficult once I got in there with all of the DIYs on the forum.

So the diff is gone too... both ends of the diff were spinning on jack stands but once I put tires on the drivers side was barely moving. On the ground reverse works fine but I get the same clicking in forward gears. I drained the fluid again and found the metal, I probably missed it in my black oil pan last time.

I tried messaging puddydaddy to have it rebuilt but it seems like his pms are full and hasn't responded to his thread in a while. Does anyone know another diff builder that knows how to strengthen everything? I'll probably change final drive to a 4.44 and go to a 1.5 LSD too.

Sorry to hear that, so to recap, you're looking at new axles and now a new diff too? That sucks man...
