Default Blew up 2nd gear this morning - need advice

I was doing a bit of spirited driving and heard a loud noise when going in to 2nd. I have completely lost 2nd gear now and hear a clicking noise when the car is moving. Not a great way to start my weekend.

Any idea on what exactly I broke and what kind of work is going to be needed on it? Is it a bad idea to continue to drive the car by going from 1st to 3rd?

Thanks guys, I appreciate any input.

Ouch that sucks ! Dont drive the car anymore as youre doing more damage to the trans . 2nd gear has lost its teeth and all that debris is floating around the box causing more damage to other parts . Its going to need a 1st and 2nd gear set and thats not cheap . Perhaps a used box maybe better . If you plan on buying a used box then id just run it the way it is until you find a good used one . Best of luck .

Unfortunately you can only buy Honda replacement gears in 1st & 2nd Gear sets. You can't just buy 2nd gear. I have 7 S2k transmissions available. Gear set ups are:

Ap1 standard

Ap2 standard

Ballade Ap1/Ap2 Hybrid: This is Ap1 1-6 gear with Ap2 Secondary reduction gear. This will make your transmission have a faster 5th and 6th gear to your original Ap2 transmission.

Please let me know if we can be of any service. Thank you.

I blew 2nd gear once. Shit sucked. When I bought it it always popped out of second and when I go to put it back in it always grinded. It finally gave out on me.

I forgot what I needed exactly (main shaft and a couple other parts) but with Billman it all came out to around $800. It runs so perfect now. I couldn't be any happier.
