You are absolutely safe to put a year or more on the oil filter. I will add oem filters to the R&D and see how long they are actually are good for.

I estimate an EASY 10k plus miles. We are a wasteful society.

Thanks Billman, that's reassuring to know. I've spent more than enough time reading on this forum to trust your expertise . I'll continue on with the yearly changes.

By the way, what's the R&D you mentioned? Some sort of formalized oil filter quality tracking?

My TCT runs higher pressure that OEM, so I assure you that is not the problem.

Did you possibly snag the wire while chaning the TCT? It's right there next to it.

You must not have the Billman contact you, you must begin your journey to seek him. It is treacherous and filled with many obstacles, but at the end of your adventure you shall be fulfilled.

Default New TCT Gen X

600 miles on the new TCT Gen X. The chain rattle is gone. I expected that. But the engine also rev's smoother and quicker throughout the entire range, Noticeable restoration in power (5 to 10 pounds?). Guessing Cam timing is now where it needs to be. Good piece of engineering Bill. Wish I was closer to NY. Would not be shy of you working on my car.

The 3 previous OEM tct's made things quieter, for awhile, but never did anything to improve performance.

2001, NFR, 143,700 miles. Original owner.

In your spare time ....... maybe you would look at the the TCT for the Triumph Street/Speed/Daytona 675cc Triples? Bout' only weak point on the engine but failure mode similar to the Honda's. If you thought Honda was interesting wait til' you look at a Brit.

Installed Billman’s TCT this past weekend. From PMs, to delivery to install, it was a seemless process. Billman answered all of my questions along the way, in a timely manner. Responses on the same day! Delivery was prompt. Install was a breeze, including pulling the pin. Moving air box aside helped, but could’ve done it in place. Car purrs now, from idle through vtec. No regrets here.

My experience was exactly the same. USPS Priority shipping - 2 days to San Diego and clear instructions. You definitely don't need to remove the airbox. Car sounds great!
