there are washers in the fuel ?pulsation dampener? thing that should always be replaced if removed.
perhaps you can try that if you don't visually notice anything else.

had the same problem when i replaced my injectors, there are o rings that slip inside the fuel rail and if old or the fuel rail is tightened too much the o rigngs will fail

Odd that something like this happened out of the blue though. Usually its when something gets bumped or torqued/loosened.
It could be worse...... electrical issues suck.

UPDATE!!!!! 
Finally had time to check out the car again and thanks to Highlander's suggestions I found the leak is on the rubber portion of the "fuel feed" line just below where it has an extra sheath covering. There is a 1/4 long slit in the hose, perpendicular across it. Fuel was spraying out when I turned the ignition to "ON" without starting the car.

If I throw the car up on jackstands can I access the pressure fitting where bolt #57 (just below the word "SLIT") goes in that picture? Looks like taking that fitting loose and removing the line from the rail is all that needs done. I'm just going to go ahead and replace the fuel filter while I'm at it. Where on earth is the darn fuel filter? I can't find it in that picture.
Edit: the odd thing is the slit in the line is perfectly straight, almost like it was done by a razor! I wonder who wants me dead?

There is no fuel filter. There is only the sock over the inlet inside the fuel tank.
