Default big bore throttle body question...kinda stupid

i have noticed that some of the aftermarket throttle bodies have the same part number for different series motors; i.e. one that covers B,D,F and H motors....

are these companies trying to say that the mounting surfaces are the same...one purchased for a B or D can be used on the F or H motors?

also, who has the "true" 70mm bore throttle bodies...the ones that are still 70mm at the butterfly plate, and require boring/welding to the intake manifold.

Ryan,
I have a Skunk2 70mm streight through to the butterfly. It works great, but I also had mt intake manifold ported to 70mm and the runners polished. If you have any questions you can PM me or email me which would be easier as I checke my email all through the day.

well, the motor series number indicates which manifold they will fit, most likely F and H, D and B. i dont want to say they are straight swap but at least they are close in term of displacement and motor design.

anyways, you are not looking at a huge gain but just swapping a bigger throttle body, most of the guy buy the big TB also has manifold works done.

it's not just bigger the better thing, it's about air flow characterist and there no way to know what works better without a flow bench number. there's big arse ported and smooth runners with massive tb that flow worth than stock mini me mani with stock tb.

just a side note, when you bore out the oem tb, you need to have the butterfly plate adjusted and the whole nine yard or the sensor will not able to read right.

there's a dude on honda-tech.com that doesn big body tb work for sub 100 buck
