You're going to have to torch it. I guarantee it will work. A few months ago I did a little project with retorching my arc shift knob. I had a shop redo the plastic thread inside with a metal sleeve. To keep the sleeve intact I used blue loctite. I had to redo the shift knob a few times to get the color I wanted, so each time I retorched it, the loctite would burn off. You'll see it smoke underneath and give off a slight fume, so definitely do this with the top down. Let the knob cool down and it should twist right off. I used a mapp torch, but I think any torch should work fine.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm limited on what I can do, living in an apartment with a parking garage and no torch or heat gun. I'm taking it to our reputable private mechanic Tuesday, so that he can heat it, remove it and make sure the linkage is still fine. I'm going to have him regrease it too.
I wonder if I'll have to order a new shift knob. I have the OEM aluminum one; will it affect the color? Also, I'm getting the nut I'm missing. No more Loctite.
Oh yeah... then I'll finally install my Rick's leather console cover!

Update:
Took the car to my mechanic yesterday, as I was tired of fooling with it. He took the shifter out and had to use a vice and vice grips to get the knob off. He even dented the aluminum knob. I had him check for any bend in the linkage and regrease it too. A reasonable $75 bucks later and it's fixed.
The Loctite wasn't really blue, but more of a gray with slight blue hue. Does it tend to lose its color? There was way too much of it, so I learned a lesson.
I immediately went home and installed the Rick's center console last night, and am happy with it. I didn't mind the carpet, but like the leather much better. It took about an hour and was frustrating at one point, but looks OEMish once installed.
Could have been much easier, glad this ordeal is over . Thanks for the advice along the way... these forums are great!

Damn what a pain in the ass haha!!
Blue loctite should not hold so strong but I guess if you used tons of it that must have been why. Usually just supposed to use a couple drops of loctite.
It does lose some color so I'm sure that was blue loctite. Red is the strong one.
Glad you got it off finally.
