take the shifter out, check the shifter regrease DIY for instructions.. don't risk damaging your transmission by trying to get the knob off

u should of got a replacement nut instead of using loctite or just screw it all the way down, it locks in place and will be centered

that sucks... try torching it.. Maybe the blow dryer isnt heating up the inside of it....

I don't think a hairdryer will provide enough heat. You might want to try a heat gun for that.

Just take the whole shifter out. Very easy to do and work on it that way.

if you managed to turn the knob it seems like you're getting close to breaking the threaded portion off the shift lever.
