AIR = air injection system.

Injects air into exhaust to help burn your HCs and COs before spitting out the exhaust into the atmosphere.

The S2000 already has an air pump going to the exhaust during cold starts. I guessed this is a must for LEV compliance.

I was referring to 4-stroke spark-ignition engines in general, not the S2000 in particular.
