Which is better dual or single exhaust systems?

Generally you can expect more hp from single exhausts, and you get to save more weight too.
Do realize, though, that the stock exhaust is already a very well-designed one, and the best you can expect from an aftermarket exhaust is around a 10hp gain at the peak.
For example, the Amuse R1 nets you around 8hp at the peak and saves you 45lbs. That's pretty much the best you can do unless you go hardcore and get the R1000.

Don't expect power gains from any exhaust. There are a lot of claims, but I have yet to see well designed stock/aftermarket comparisons that yield results more than can be accounted for by normal variance. However, you can lose a substantial amount of weight with this modification and make the car sound "better". Don't do it for the power, but for the sound "improvement" or loss of 25-40 pounds. The weight loss alone will give performance gains.
