Best way to close hood?

I love it when I get to use this one.
RTFM!!!
The owner's manual says to drop it, and not to push on it. Mine generally closes if I drop it from about 10-12". Seems a little more stubborn when it's cold, and sometimes takes a good 18-24" drop.

I did read the fabulous manual, and searched the threads... for my hood to latch, I have to drop it from a height of at least 2 ft. which feels harsh. and I obviously don't want to push on it for fear of denting.
What can I adjust to have it latch easier? can't I simply adjust the latch and move it up a hair? have others had similar problems, if so, what did you do to fix?

The problem (which I thought I described) is having to drop it the hood from so high to latch... it sounds like most people only need 1ft of drop for it to latch.
I think moving the latch upward will reduce the force needed for the hood to catch onto the latch. This isn't overly complex, I was just inquiring to see if anyone else has done similar adjustments.

do not play with the latch cuz there will be a gap between the hood and front bumper
all u need to do is to the height that u r comfortable with
i wasted all my time on one simple question?

Problem solved. Turns out the latch mechanism was poorly lubricated and the hook on the hood wasn't clean (kind of gummy from some form of paste grease). Cleaned latch mechanism and hook, then relubricated the latch with white lithium spray.
Now, dropping the hood from about 1ft it closes just fine. Sweet!

Glad you solved your issue with your hood. I know exactly how nerve wracking slamming anything on your car feels. I had a similar problem, only mine wasn't latching at ALL (first time I've had the hood up since I got the car... haven't owned it that long!) I just adjusted the rubber stops by 1/8 turn increments until it closed properly without any sort of rattle or whatnot.

not trying to bring subject off topic but when i had a cf hood, i HAD to push it close. dropping it from even above my head wouldnt close it. i would have to literally slam it down for the cf hood to latch. apperently it was too light to drop close it.
to push it closed with worrying about denting the hood, i placed my PALM (so the pressure would be spread out a bit) right above the hook. so i was basically pushing the hook down into the latch.
