Default Best Trans Fluid For My Circumstance?

Hey Fellas!!

Well just a few days ago I did the rearend and now its time to do the trans. Also, take into note that I live in Arizona and its hot as Hell here!!!

I went with Eneos in the rearend and like it but what do you guys recommend? My cars has barely 34k miles, and a ACT clutch with probably no more then 3k miles on it. So I guess we could say the fluid was changed then but I suppose it can't hurt to be safe and do it now anyways??

**Note** Sometimes though, its hard to get into gear, it doesn't grind at all what so ever, but it sometimes is somewhat difficult. But will pop in eventually.

I don't know if maybe that is just normal for these cars or if the past owner may have beat on it a little to much and never changed the trans fluid. Is it normal? You tell me?

So what do you guys recommend to try and help my car get into gear easier and also give me the best protection? Does anyone have experience for Eneos in their trans? I wanted to stick with Eneos but if someone knows something else will work better, throw it at me!!!!

Thoughts? Opinions? Bring em all please!!!!!

Thank you and have a great Monday!

I always use Redline MT90 It can get a little notchy when the car is cold but in the heat it is like butter. I change it every other oil change, but my car gets drivin hard.

If you have trouble getting into gear, MT fluid will not fix it. Sounds like your clutch disc has no grease on the spline.

Thanks a lot guys. Everyone on this forum has been so helpful and I am so thankful!!!

Anymore opinions?

I used Redline in my Supra so I'm kind of inclined to run that in this car. I'm thinking of going Redline in the rearend too. What Redline weight do you recommend in the rearend if I'm trying to tone down my gear whine. I just put in Eneos 75-90 and it helped some, but it still bothers me.

Thank you!!!

hard getting in gear when cold?

also check out your slave cylinder under the car and the clutch fork, its hard to get lube in there, might need a small paint brush. what about clutch fluid

For us AZ folks Redline MT90 works very well. I ran it in my AP1 trans for 8+years and 200k+ miles and never a problem. It also helped with the 1-2 grind that I had since the car was new. I still have the AP1 trans sitting in my garage in good working order, I just decided to upgrade to an AP2 trans. This last trans/diff change I did, I decided to try the Amsoil, but I think I'm switching back to Redline next change.
