Best place to get "key/ignition" power for AEM boost solenoid?

Are those connections fused? How much current can be pulled from them?

when ignition is on, the power to IGN and BATT pins should be the same at 12v right? i was hardwiring a dashcam (
) to the IGN pin, the dashcam would turn on when i key on but subsequently dies off. if i use the BATT pin, the dashcam stays on no problem. i confirmed using a test light that the IGN pin has power when key on. perhaps it was the hardwire kit having a battery voltage cutoff? but then again, the BATT and IGN pins should have the same voltage output? i will try again with the engine running (alternator should increase the voltage) or even use a voltmeter to check the pins.

IGN = 12V or whatever the battery voltage is when key is in ignition II
i think your hardwire Kit has like you said a battery voltage cutoff. You should be able to configure this in some dash cam models...It may have dropped your battery voltage slightly to its trigger point and shut off. When you have the engine running your camera should be operational like you want it to.
