Best OTC oil filter

Baldwin Oil Filters are the end all in filters... There may be a dealer near you or you can order them online.

Simmer down Tiger and read my post before you react ... my post was aimed at telling him that if he's going to buy an OTC filter ... spend an extra 10 minutes and $6-$7 more to find a M1 filter. The Pure 1 filter is a great filter for your average car, but really can't take the abuse of an S2000 that's driven with spirit.
My point was not to challenge your pocketbook, but to point out that HE'S better off spending a few extra bucks on the M1 over other readily available aftermarket filters - but should really use the PCX if it's readily available.
Please save your financial portfolio for those who care. Thanks.
I am sorry for misunderstood your post.
The question from Mungo was "what is the best oil filter I can buy @ Pep Boys, Kragen, etc for S2000?". Mobil 1 is not available at these auto part stores. Most of these stores cary only 2 filters: Fram and Purolator. Fram is a big NO, Purolator is not as good as Purolator Pure One.

I understood the intent of your post but wanted to emphasize to him that the oil filter is not a trivial item in this car. Both you and I know this, but a few members still feel that most filters will do.
I use either Amsoil, M1, or Pure One in my other car, but have come to learn the PCX is by far the best for the S2000. I previously used either an M1 or Amsoil filter in my S2000, but have actually found the less expensive PCX to be a much better filter for the application. I never used the Pure One in my S2000 because the weak internal structure. It just wasn't worth the risk for me.
But you're right, the Pure One is FAR better than any Fram filter and better than a standard Purolator. It's one of the best tier 2 filters on the market. If the Pure One was the only quality alternative available, I would have no choice but to use it.

I think the best advice that can be given here is not to go to those stores to begin with. If possible just try to go to a retail store that sells the other brands. I have been using the Mobile 1 filter in my S2 for the past several months and also used it in my GS-r. Not one complaint!
