If you really think this is an analogue for an internal combustion engine you're wrong.
Period.

The "best oil" will always be subjective.

Because I've used it for 120k miles, and the fantastic results it has given ME and my customers, I use nothing but mobil1 10w30.

However my car does not burn oil, and some have found if they burn oil Mobil1 may not be right for them.

My oil burning customers get Castrol syntec 10w30.

^^^

This is the information I was looking for. My car has always burned a little bit of oil, but for whatever reason (maybe because of lots of several hour highway trips lately) I burned a good bit of oil in the last 4k miles.

I use Mobil 1 10-30w, however I think I may switch to Castrol synthetic to see if I can quit burning as much oil.

Well my AP1 burns Castrol edge w/ titanium bull crap. But it only burns if I VTEC constantly. I burn about a quart every 3000 miles.

I have cut oil consumption in my customer cars by as much as 75% by using castrol syntec.

This does not mean it is a better oil...just is what it is.

This is all you need to know... Close thread.
Why? The Topic Starter asks for what kind of "MOTOR" oil to use. (Not like it's never been asked a million times before already. /> And not like it really makes any bit of difference unless you're using Uncle Cleatis's used recycled fry oil.) Then we get responses telling about all the different fluids people use in their trannies, rear diffs, brake and clutch systems, cooling system. We need to keep this thread open till everybody gets a chance say what kind of window washer fluid they use or what kind of A/C recharge gas they use or what kind of grease they use for the CVs or what kind of lubrication they use when they give themselves an enema. We must have every opportunity to answer the most inane question ever asked and to answer way more than what was asked. That's only fair. />
