BEST METHOD for ROLLING my FENDERS

Out of curiosity, what exactly IS rolling a fender?
All of this time I thought it meant pushing the entire wheel well out an inch or so by stretching the panel, give it more of an outward curve as you approached the wheel. From the looks of the closeup pics, though, it seems more like the 1/2" lip just inside the well is wrapped back around to the inside of the well.
Tough to describe, but instead of the well opening look like the letter 'L', it now looks like the letter 'V', or maybe the letter 'U'. Is this correct?

if you look into the fender well you'll notice a 1/2" trim that runs prependicular to the fender lines.
Your basically folding that part inwards while flaring out the fenders slightly to avoid tire contact.

It turns the lip from an 'L' into a 'V' AND pushes that 'V' out just a bit more.
