I added the defouler to my berk just to be safe. 8k miles later still no problems.
somebody above stated the ap2 o2 sensor is more "sensitive" than that of the ap1. what i'm afraid of is it adversely affecting the car. i have yet to confirm what the secondary o2 does...

OK
The second O2 sensor is simply to check up on your emissions system. No damage is done by the CEL, but you do not want to drive around with it on because it might cause you to miss other non-related codes that could be thrown. The berk TP even though it is billed as the only one to come with a built in CEL fix still throws a code on a lot of peoples cars. Their "fix" is far from 100% as you can see in this thread. To date I have never heard of the anti fouler trick not working when done properly on any testpipe...

but NOW the question is, will 2 anti-fowler mods affect anything? will it be safe for my car? think i should back to the cat LoL
the secondary o2 sensor is just there to see if there is a cat installed and its functioning properly. All the "mechanical o2 simulator" mods do is pull the o2 sensor out of the exhaust stream enough so that it gets a lower reading and thinks the cat is doing its job. If the built in one on the berk isnt enough, then adding the sparkplug anti fouler just takes the sensor out of the exhaust stream a little further to keep the CEL off.

i searched for people having the same problem and i found a couple of threads but no solutions stated. I'm going to go buy that "cel fix" tomorrow after work. hopefully, that solves my cel otherwise, i'm going to blow up this s2k.
