there's no rattle because the 2.5mm sheets are very strong
finally i'll put in silicate fiber to be sure that rattle can't occur

ok, here's the scanned templates

just klick right an "save target as" and copy it at your computer - then print it in original size A4- it's 1:1 scanned

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

and this is the correct arragnment on the tube:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

before welding:
don't forget to check the right angle of the HFC to the het shield and then fix it together with a double-side tape

then fix the cutted sheets to the shield like it's shown on the first pic (i also took tape for this)
then point-welding at one side can be done
remove the HFC from the heat-shiedl and weld the rest together

for the O2-Bung i took a tube of 24mm outer dia. und 16.5m inner dia. - the thread is a M18x1.5

hold the part of the shield with the hole over the HFC and locate the right position for the O2-Tube, mark it, drill a 5mm hole in there and weld it together

Regards
Pat

Very nice work! A great option for those who would like to keep the heat shield.

I know it's a post from 2 years ago, but it has been very informative in my research to get a Berk HFC on my S.

Pat, is there a reason why you went with "odd shaped" tabs instead of straight ones like those in the pictures below?
