I think you need to prove you're the original purchaser - which they can do with dealer records or a receipt. My car came with an OEM battery that died still in the warranty period but they wouldn't honor it without the original receipt.

Many dealers will offer or match prices. I looked at the same fitment for a Costco (Interstate) battery but the anode and cathode were reversed. Could have made it work pulling and twisting things around but for an extra $20 overall and no hassle I had the dealer throw one in. 10 minutes.

Since Costco switched to using Interstate batteries they no longer carry the battery that fits our cars.
Honda replacement batteries are not Panasonic.
