Default Battery

I had to replace my battery in MY03 since it was going bad on me. My old battery is a Panasonic brand. Yesterday I went to go pick up my replacement battery at the Honda Stealership and I noticed that it was Interstate brand. The Service Dude said that the Interstate brand was being used in all the new models. Is this correct or was he BS'in me?

I also noticed that the interstate had 500 CCA as opposed to 410 CCA which I guess would be better...

They got those Honda 100 month warranty batteries, too. 8+ years of warranty! I bought my car with one, it (batt) died on me totally, wouldn't hold charge, so I went to 3 (!) regional stealerships, and had my brother go to 4th one, and they all refused to replace/service the batt. Said I need original receipt, even though they just came out with the battery like 2 years ago, so it still technically had 5+years left on it! Unbelievable.

Complete bullshit. Batteries have date codes on them that they can use for warranty purposes. Sounds like they were just being lazy pricks.

Wow, Then I should definitely keep my receipt then! Sorry you had to go through that BS.

Thought I'd attach a picture of my new battery. From what it sounds like this may be the new batteries they are putting in the newer S2K?

I thought that the panasonic was in Japan only. We get one when the car is assembled but Interstate when replaced. No?
