The carbon gearbox is wild stuff... but I wouldn't hold my breath for a road-car application just yet.
Actually, really surprising to me is that Honda hasn't implemented a semiautomatic gearbox for the S. Other manufacturers with F1 experience (BMW, Ferrari) have long since sold sequential gearboxes, and the S2000 would seem an ideal candidate for a 7-speed, what with the narrow powerband.

I saw the gear box once and it's really a work of carbon fiber art!

Even though the other guys have SMG trans, that's not to say it's better or more fun than a manual. The clunk that an M3 makes when fast shifting do much to think that it'll go over 100k miles without a rebuild...
Honda is state of the art without going to dealer every other week to fix something. That's something that is important to the brand image, and I hope they do introduce some of the above, but not prematurely.
