Bad sec HO2 heater - sensor still OK?

well ... brought up a hellava old post here.. 
I just put the broken sensor back into the broken cat.
Waiting to see where i can get one without going to the dealerships because our dear friends on Amazon don't like shipping to South Africa.
Gonna have to play on some of the ebay adverts.
Anyone know if the 00' AP1 Secondary sensor (Blue wire) is interchangeable with the black ones being advertised for the 2004+? (All of our S2000's are RHD F20c AP1's with ap2 bumpers and lights + Fly by wire etc after 2004. ) reason i'm asking is that the 00' - 03' uses the older OBD plug which you can bridge with a paperclip whereas the 2004+ uses the big OBD2 plug so not sure if the connectors and wiring might be different underneath the car where the sensor plugs in??
