Bad coil packs on an AP2 non DBW FIXED
So my friend's 05 AP2 was having a weird issue that it felt like it was missing and running on 3 cylinders on occasion in particular the car would run like crap when:
-cold idling
-low rpms and cold
Once conditions warmed up or under high RPMs; the car would run great and no missing or hesitation.
The interesting part is that the car does not throw any codes.
Remedies I tried:
-changed spark plugs (condition of the plugs had good coloring no indication of lean or rich running)
-valve adjustment (usually I run them on the looser side since I do valve adjustments so often)
Finally, I had access to another friend's AP2 and was able to quickly try his coil packs...eureka - PROBLEM SOLVED!
In case anyone else has a similar condition; this would be a remedy to try.

Out of curiosity, how many miles on your buddy's coil packs? One of mine hit 99k miles and started crapping out!
