Back-up (reverse) light not working
So i purchased my S recently with a few small known problems. all were simple fixes except my reverse lights. i was hoping it was just a simple fuse, but this doesnt look like the case.
so i got under the car and tested a few things. first a check all the fuses, and they look good. even switched various 7.5 fuses to make sure. all is good.
second i tested the reverse switch in the tranny. first i put it in reverse (ignition off) and got 0 resistance betweent he two sides, then pulled it out of reverse and got infite resistance... good. next turned on the ignition. out of gear, i got 12.8V on one side, and 0 on the other. put it in reverse, and got 12.8 on both sides. ... good.
(CLIFF NOTES THUS FAR: its not the switch and its not the fuses)
went to the reverse lights and pulled the plug for the reverse bulb. it looks like bother are reading 0 resistance with a chassis ground (bold right next to the tail lights in trunk). any idea of how both wires (black, and green with black stripe) are both grounded out? im sure this is the problem with the lights.
thanks in advance for any help
