Super easy to install but time consuming. I'm running the J's SPL. I removed the caliper and lower arm to swing off the hub. The nuts on the half axle are a pain to loosen. I didn't have enough clearance for a break bar, so I had to shave off a couple stubborn bolts. I'm sure yours came with new extended bolts. I'll see if I can put together some instructions for you.

If the impact wrench can't get the axle nut off, try this:
Assuming it's on the ground and you have the AP1 wheels with center cap off. Fully engage the e-brake. Pry flat the thread lock on the axle nut, insert the breaker bar to loosen the axle nut. If your car still moves with the e-brake up, have a friend stomp on the brake pedal and put all your weight on the breaker bar. Be careful not to scratch your car or slam your hand or face on the pavement.
Also, I used the small pitment arm puller instead of the honda tool you see to get the ball joint off. You can purchase it cheap or maybe rent it free at your nearest auto parts shop.

The tab isnt really anything to worry about, its so weak it doesnt do much IMO. You can always chock the rear tire but if they're rusted you'll more than likely have to get someone with a stout impact. I've got a 600ft lb gun that wouldnt take one off a civic, I used a 3t breaker bar with another 2ft jack handle, my bar was flexing hard core haha. Had to heat it, impact zipped it off.

antiseize fixed that when I had to pull it off again for bad bearings.

I did mine about 6 months ago: Remove the ABS sensor cable holders on the upper A arm then the two bolts for the upper Arm. To keep the assembly from flopping around use a coat hanger. Remove the drive shaft bolts and push the axle outward and slide in the spacers. The kit came with real weak bolts from China so I bought grade 8 bolts and was able to torque to factory specifications. So far so good. Did mine without removing center axle nut and lower ball joint. These were also the one piece spacers.
