Going to the dealer with the expectations you guys have is like going to burger king and asking for a whopper cooked medium well.

You should kind of expect that they aren't going to care as much as you. Rightfully so, because most people don't give two shits about anything short of the bill "I want the best repair with the highest quality parts for the absolute rock bottom lowest price and I want it as fast as possible"

Face it that most people (even S2000 owners) don't care and it is statistically a waste of time for the techs to care. A standard sub-par repair will get most people on the road and more than happy.

...

Spend a few dollars at Harbor Freight and do your own repairs for complete satisfaction.

Wouldn't be a problem if the quality of service matched the $145/h Bill + parts marked up over list price.

Then the axle can get broken by you in your garage and you can get the satisfaction of fixing it.

That stub was rusty, it was bound to break staked or not.

A very unique, dynamic perspective.
