Default Axle Nut broke on rear wheel

I was at a shop to change my hub and bearing because of noise and when the mechanic was removing the axle nut it broke clean off.

What part do I need? Axle?

I called Honda parts and they quoted me $800 for rear axle. I was like WTF. I'll post pics later currently doing this from my phone.

It has happened to a few of us. Need a outer CV joint. It was a little hard to get the old one off since the manual has a technique that assumes it is not damaged... I just hammered the old one off the axle carefully held in a vice. The new on is a little expensive but not a hard install.

Since this is my daily I need to get her back and running soon. Is it okay if I purchase non-oem parts?

Can someone please post up where I can buy this part for cheap? So from looking at the pictures the outer CV joint is bad, correct? If I give this part to the mechanic should they be able to fix it?

Thanks!

Nope, your best bet is to find a junk yard axle locally. Ideally you'd want new but sometimes you gotta take what life gives you.

Are you saying that I shouldn't buy the cv joint and just buy a used entire axle assembly?

No no you can just buy the outer part with the axle stud. But you can certainly get a used axle for $100~ and just cannabalize the parts.

I found a junked s2000 that's prob a 06 and the seller wants $100 for the axle which sounds like a good deal. Now my question is will an ap2 axle fit on my ap1?
