has any s2k with stock suspension/stock ride height ever had the cv vibration or swap the cv's?
BTW, to echo the other contributors, I did this without removing the axles (just left the axle nut on) and it took ~3.5 hours making two trips for parts (my usual pitman ball joint separate was too small, and I had to use a two prong gear/pulley puller).
And to contribute something: I found it was easiest to loosen/break free the axle fasteners by using the parking brake and breaker bar on the bolts. With this method I didn't need to hold the nut with a wrench while breaking the bolts.

I have a very weird situation...there has been for a few months, the vibration. Unfortunately, lately the click has shown up also, just one at first, but now (the weird part), it seems to click many times depending on how much acceleration I dump in it. It's like the clicking on a front wheel drive when you turn the wheel when the CV is bad, so i assume that I just need to break down and get another CV Shaft. I have attempted to listen and it seems to come from the driver's side...
Question is, does this sound accurate? and would i be safer just replacing both cv shafts if this is the case?

sorry to revive a kinda old topic, but had a question.
if i were to wanting to remove just the inner cv joint, what would i need to loosen/remove on the outer side? when removing from the inside, do you remove the boot while the inner cv joint is still in? is there enough room to pull it out of the diff?
oh btw, im kinda a big guy, would it be too cramped?
doing this this weekend, its really bothering me now.
thanks for any replies

Mine is (finally?) starting to show some vibration on the highway at higher rates of speed... looks like it's time for a swap
