Awful 2nd gear transmission grind
#12
After I did swapped clutch fluid, and adjusted my clutch, and swapped tranny fluid using honda mtf. It was still happening. So I just slowly shifted for a month for 1st-2nd. Then I found a thread saying to change my style of shifting. I pull straight down now when shifting to second using my index, middle, and ring fingers to pull it. Hasn't grinded on me for the past month so far 9k rpm shifting almost everyday. I used to shift by dragging the shifter along the left side towards the bottom left with my palm like I am holding a cup.
Try this and see if it works.

look under the dash, up at the back of the master. Using one finger, check the freeplay. You'll see two distinct freeplays. One is slop in the clutch rod. One is the mater piston moving in about 1/4 inch.
Remove ONLY the slop in the rod. Do not remove the piston freeplay.

I'm referring to part "A" and "B"

Thanks, I just adjusted mine the correct way. I realize that I had adjusted my clutch play the incorrect way, by adjusting A and B. I see now that I was removing the free play from the master cylinder. I drove it like this for about 2,000 miles, did I do any damage to the CMC? Nothing has seemed abnormal.
