Autolock when top is down
Does anyone else have this problem?
I would park my car and leave the top down. Then lock the doors and arm the car. When I come back to the car and use the keyfob to unlock the doors, the doors will re-lock themselves immediately. There is no time for me to even press the unlock button a 2nd time to unlock the passenger side - by then, the doors have re-locked themselves. The only way for me to get in the car is to be standing right next to it, press the unlock button once, then quickly open the door before it re-locks itself. Ideas?

It's a 2007, if it makes a difference.

My 2002 does not do this, even with factory alarm. My car will re-lock automatically if 30 seconds goes by and I've not yet opened the door I unlocked.

Do you have a second key fob to try?
Does it do it if you use the key in the door?
BTW, I have no idea why this got moved from S2k Talk to Under the Hood - it is S2k talk afterall... maybe electronics...

i will do some tests this weekend with the timings and both keyfobs to see what i find.
putting the key to unlock won't work either, the lock will not open all the way to unlock. i even can't reach my hand in to unlock it, it just won't fully click into unlocked state. i guess that's good for security eh?
also, no aftermarket alarm, but i did buy the car used, so maybe the previous owner did something. maybe i'll reach out to him and find out.

yeah you should get 20-30 seconds before it re-locks, that is weird.

I had this happen to one of my Civic's. One of the locks would intermittently get stuck such that it wouldn't unlock all the way, and when it happened the doors locked back immediately. Only one door would get stuck, but both doors would lock back immediately. I would either sit there and toggle the locks back and forth until the stuck one became un-stuck, or I would press unlock and quickly open the door handle before it had a chance to lock back, lol. Made for some embarrassing date moments.
