Default AUTO TENSIONER

UGGHHH..again, my tensioner has gone out again..this is the 3rd time in a year since i've changed it...it seems as if everytime i've adjusted the valves it has gone bad...is it because maybe when turning the crank it doesnt have the oil pressure going through it that makes it go bad?

oh well..another $200 to buy another one.

yeah..well unfortunatly, i dont live in the states, and the honda dealer sells it here for US$220. even if i ordered it from a dealer in the states for US$125, and had it shipped to the Cayman Islands and duty on it, it would come up to about US$220. sux for my car, cause it's a jap spec S2000(right hand drive) so it's hard to get parts for it, lucky the tensioner is easy, just costs an arm and a leg to get it here.

Definitely not. I do that all the time with many different s2ks.

What oil are you using?

i'm using 10-40, they dont have 10-30 down here..or 5-40..what ever the s2000 oem recommends..i know they dont have it here, not even at the stupid dealer. believe me, i try and use everything oem as much as i can. i go to the dealer here for everything.

went and bought 4 ign coils from the dealer here, and it was us$215 a peice, and in the states they are like US$95 each...Cayman gets away with a lot of stuff, thats why when i go to miami or tampa, i order anything i can from the dlrshps there, even if its just oil filters...haha. get like 10 filters at a time, cause they are like $5 each, and down here they are $20 each
