I just got my HKS exhuast installed this past weekend. I love it! However, I have started to notice a metallic rattle/buzz coming from the rear of my car at 3-4K rpms. It sounds like something around the exhaust is loose. Have any of you had this problem?

Thanks in advance.

if you're referring to this "gzzzzz" sound, it's normal...the resonating sound actually reminds me of the integras and civics we got here in LA.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about....but sorry i have no clue what it is. I notice it too, ive posted about this before but apparently no one really understood what i meant. It drives me bonkers. And i looked everywhere and listened to it from different places...even had my gf punched the gas so i could listen from the trunk area. i have no clue, i just turn my stereo up a little or the windows down. But hope somebody has an answer

Have you guys checked to make sure there isn't something touching the frame up by the hanger points? probably have checked this, but an easy way to find out....try a little silicone spray on the rubber where the hangers hook on too...

Nice plug for the "other" exhaust system you carry.

jk,

Mine doesn't have the vibration either. Check all your bolts for proper tightness.

I'm betting this buzzing isn't the exhaust, it's the clutch. Check out this TSB for what I think you are now experiencing...it's just more noticeable with the HKS, for some reason...

I too (all of a sudden) have gotten this metallic vibration/resonance at 3000 - 3500 rpm... I have the Comptech exhaust...

I will check the clutch thread...
