Well, not entirely. You're just not completely right.

MrForgetable, although it is quite admirable that you go and search stuff out on the internet, you still need to understand the "context" of the thing you quoted. What you quoted does explain what rev matching is but ONLY describes why it is used in that context.

"i still have no clue how to rev-match in a car tho" .......................
What you just quoted explains how to do it and yet you still say you have no clue. You should be able to deduce the answer by reading your own quote. The fact that you state you have no clue and yet offer a response to this thread only serves to add to the "unuseful" information in this thread and to CONFUSE those who are seeking the correct answer. This is especially true since you already stated, "personally doesn't make sense to me because i've never driven in my life".
You present yourself as a very nice young man on this board and you provide great camaraderie for many other users, but sometimes, I think you get in a just bit "over your head".

I realize this and that is why I say that, without some real world experience, "copying and pasting" and telling of what "you've heard" only lends to cloud the issue for those who seek "real answers". It does noone any service for you to enter into a discussion where the consequences of what you say can cause someone or his property severe damage.

I use rev-matching and brakes to slow down i like it much better then just braking cause i feel more comfortable around here doing it so that when my speed is slowing down if a moron (we have plenty) pops into my lane and zings at me i can have a little punch on the throttle.I have had this happen quiet a few times already in just my moms little miata it doesnt have much done to it so it definantly lags if im out of the power band.I think it has lightened flywheel, headers, intake, and a less restrictive exhaust (not coffee can exhaust just less restrictive).
