anyhow...keep in mind that throttle affects vtec engagement as well...you need to be at an aggressive throttle to engage vtec.

I'm not sure thats true.
The hondata toda header reflash for the 06s implements a vtec window from 4200-6500rpms.
You have to be over 50% throttle or so for vtec to kick in.
If you are cruising on the highway at 7000rpms, you are in vtec. No "agressive throttle necessary".
Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

hmmm, I think that i remember a discussion before regarding the relationship between altitude and Vtec engagement. I believe it should engage at 6k. I am in Albuquerque (5300') and it does seem to engage later. Some denver folks have noticed that as well. People lower have seemed to get it at a lower RPM. Not sure of the reason for that but I'd ask what altitude you are at and if there is any correlation.

again, i want to thank everyone for there input. vtec on the s2k, is very interesting and it almost want act on it owns at the right conditions, but i was able to feel it at 6k today.
gello2024 - you are correct. vtec is such a wonderful thing, now it time to do that to my civic as well i'm in love with vtec!
