High speed oversteer

Increase downforce on rear, Or;
decrease downforce on front, Or;
do both very gently.
OR..... a small detail.

Thx!

Did they also pay the repair bill for the damage?
The only car that was damaged was the street driven car with the track version BSK...he had been warned not to use them on his daily driver...so no re-imbursement justified.

But since the new one's for the street won't break...no problem.

very good info on here...
does TCD BSK rearsubs only for track use?
ive been told that the AP1 suffer the rear bump steer problem but also about a more oversteer issue too. the AP2 fixed this with a the new uprgaded full rear subframe and better tires in the rear...is this true?
im trying to understand if the subframe from the AP2 really made a difference or was it just rims and tires...
The ap2 rear subframe allowed for a different suspension geometry that reduced the bumpsteer.

It may also have reduced oversteer, but most of the oversteer would have been dialed out by the smaller rear swaybar, the softer rear springs, and the increased rear tire bias in the front-to-rear stagger.

Note that the BSK (either TCD or Megan) does not replace the rear subframe...only the trailing control arm that impacts rear toe. It takes about 10min per side to install.

THere is something that I do not understand, acording to the pdf, if you want highspeed oversteer decrease downforce on the rear and increase downforce on the rear? isnt the opposite??
It is not if you WANT it...it is if you HAVE high speed oversteer, then the fix is more downforce on the rear and/or less on the front.

Is there a set of specs like "This is the amount (x) of toe change you have over this (y) suspension arm travel range" and then how much you wanted to take out (All, of course.)?
I brought it to an alignment shop where the owner (sole mechanic) used to race and set up everything from old school race Datsun's to road race Corvettes. i told him how much I was lowered and he said "don't worry, I'll take care of this" and all hass been great since. I just told him to give me the UK alignment spec and as close to zero rear toe as possible. Btw I kept my '00 sway bars and the balance is so neutral that I can see the character change when adjusting coilover stiffness.

Sorry to revive this, but what is the end result on the knuckles? Do you need to buy AP2 knuckles, or can you swap over the AP1 knuckles?

I ended up getting the AP2 knuckles, but never got around to doing the conversion. Went I went through the parts list between AP1/2 I noticed the only difference in parts is the subframe, knuckle and upper arms. All existing parts can be reused.

Ok, yeah I was just wondering b/c TrackStar said that he did the swap & retained the AP1 knuckles w/o problems.

yeah, I'm not exactly sure how that would effect the geometry of the suspension.
