Your pics aren't quite as clear as the OP's, but if you are sure your intake retainer/keeper positioning is identical to these (the exhaust side), then you are fine. If you can, take some pics of your intake retainers. A lot of times only the intake side is upgraded as those are generally the only ones that crack so you MAY already have upgraded retainers if you're not sure what the difference between the two is.

I can't count the number of times I've gone in to replace retainers and they've already been done.

For whatever weird reason, second intake retainer from the back is always the worst. It has been on 33 cars. So get a good look at that one.

Funny you mention that Billman, that's been the case on the majority of cracked retainer situations I've dealt with. I had one in that position that was cracked so bad it stress fractured the valve stem and the second I started compressing it, the stem broke. It was to be expected though and the head was already off, so not a huge deal.

Ok, just checked mine last night. I think I will be fine, but my eyes are untrained when it comes to inspecting retainers. Can someone please tell me if these are good or bad?

Starting from the front of the engine (intake side):

Retainer #1

Retainer #2

Retainer #3

Retainer #4

Retainer #5

For some reason I lost the pic of retainer #6, but all of my retainers, both intake and exhaust, looked the same.

Retainer #7 (second from the back, Billman said this one would be the worst of all if broken)

Retainer #8

Other random pics

FWIW, here is a pic of my exhaust retainer (all my exhaust retainers looked like this)

Am I good for a while before I upgrade to AP2 retainers, or is it something urgent? Please, any input is greatly appreciated!

Those all look good, so you're good man. As long as you don't mis-shift and over-rev, those will go a million miles.

Does anyone have pics of AP2 retainers installed? Do they look different than AP1's? I think the previous owner of my car had them changed but not positive. I need to get a look at mine and get some pics to be sure they are ok.

AP1 on the left, AP2 on the right. Notice the bevel around the cotters (keepers).
